News 2019 Channel Store publishing blackout dates 📷tcharles - Jun 21st, 2019 The Roku Channel Store will be blacked out during this year’s holiday season on the following dates: Friday, November 15, 2019 through Tuesday, December 3, 2019Friday, December 13, 2019 through Sunday, January 5, 2020 During this period, no new channels or channel updates will be published (i.e. Roku end-users will still be able to download existing channels from the Roku Channel Store as usual). This blackout applies to all regional channel stores internationally. Channel submissions received during these dates are reviewed and certified as usual, but they will not be published until the conclusion of the blackout. Once the blackout ends, channels are published as quickly as possible, in the order they were submitted to Roku. In advance of these dates, Roku will certify and publish as many channels in the publishing queue as possible. However, there is typically a high volume of channel submissions before major holidays; therefore, the certification response times may take longer than usual.  Also, please be mindful that additional development cycles will be required for a channel if it fails certification upon its first submission. It is therefore recommended that channels be submitted for publication well ahead of their intended go-live dates. Please consider these dates in the development, launching, and marketing of your Roku channels. Note that the blackout occurs every year in observance of the holidays to ensure the continued stability of the Roku Channel Store. If you have any questions about this blackout, contact Roku’s Partner Success team.
